Five days to Substantial Completion Date [03/29/2019] for the stadium [not the parking] garage. Some barriers have been moved and the perimeter of the park is more clearly defined. Grass has been planted on the north end along the CSX rails. Section posts are visible on the 3rd-base side of the playing field. The backing for the community media board [to the left of the scoreboard] is now up.
So, now I know what the support pilllars to the left of the scoreboard are for…
Thanks to the Woodpeckers Charity Partners, whose names will be displayed on a separate media board to the left of the scoreboard. Several community activities will benefit for the Woodpeckers presence in Fayetteville this inaugural year. Please see the News 17 video below for a summary of the Woodpeckers and their partners’ community involvement.
Currently, $65,000 has been donated by the partners, with another $100K expected this year. This is GREAT for Fayetteville! See the comment below for the video backstory.
Now with eight days to the 03/29 Substantial Completion Date.
There are three key dates in this project’s immediate future: 1) Substantial Completion—03/29. I presume that is defined in the contract between the parties. I have not seen it discussed.; 2) First Fan Look—04/13; and, 3) Home Opener—04/18.
Assurances have been given on meeting each of the dates above. I trust it will happen. I plan to be there for First Fan Look and the Home Opener. I have purchased tickets for 22 games.
It appears much is yet to be done. From now until First Fan Look, I plan to take pics every two weeks unless I see lots of changes in between. I checked last Thursday and did not find a lot different from my 02/21 shoot. The scoreboard is more complete. It appears huge!
“AEVEX Aerospace specializes in airborne intelligence solutions — things that fly, things with cameras, other sensors, and then the intelligence that goes along with it,” Ferriol said. “We have 500 employees worldwide. We manage 200 of those a block away in our intelligent business solutions unit. I imagine a lot of those employees will be frequenting the stadium to see some baseball games and events and we look forward to seeing everybody out there.”
